Verena von Bomhard ha estado involucrada con las marcas de la Unión Europea desde sus inicios, tras fundar la oficina de su antiguo bufete en Alicante a principios de 1996. Cuenta con una amplia experiencia en todo lo relacionado con la tramitación y la defensa de marcas y diseños de la UE, ha gestionado más de 100 procedimientos ante el Tribunal General y el Tribunal de Justicia de la Unión Europea en Luxemburgo, y asesora regularmente sobre conflictos complejos en materia de propiedad intelectual en la Unión Europea.
Verena es doctora en Derecho por la Universidad de Múnich. Es coeditora de tres destacados libros (en alemán e inglés) sobre la legislación de la UE en materia de marcas y de diseños, es autora y coautora de numerosos libros y artículos sobre marcas y diseños de la UE, y es ponente habitual sobre estos temas. Imparte clases de Derecho europeo de marcas en el Magister Lucentinus, el programa de máster en propiedad intelectual de la Universidad de Alicante.
Miembro muy activo de la INTA durante muchos años, Verena recibió el Premio al Servicio Voluntario para el Avance del Derecho de Marcas en 2014 y actualmente forma parte Trademark Reporter Committee de la INTA como senior editor. También es miembro del Comité de Expertos en Derecho de Marcas y Competencia de GRUR, así como de ECTA, PTMG y ASIPI.
Además del alemán, su lengua materna, Verena domina el inglés y el español y tiene conocimientos de francés e italiano.
